Euro NCAP finds quadricycles had “severe safety problems”

Euro NCAP has branched out from cars and crash tested a small selection of “heavy quadricycles”  – small, four-wheeled vehicles that were originally developed from motorcycles that are sometimes also known as microcars, and don’t come under the usual car regulations. Although legal for use on the road, these machines do not need to achieve the same rigorous crash test safety standards as ordinary cars. But they are increasingly seen as a fuel-efficient urban transportation alternative, and some of them can be driven teenagers as young as 16.

Bogus DVLA websites costing motorists

A number of websites claiming to offer Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) test booking services are costing drivers up to three times as much for routine applications, according to new reports. The Office of Fair Trading has confirmed that these fake sites exceed the standard DVLA costs for booking a driving theory or practical test – priced at £31 and £62 respectively – but that the independently run services are not actually illegal. IED Creative Diary 2011

The Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) will be offering a total of 36 scholarships to students hoping to enter the university this year. The schools' Design, Fashion, Visual Communication and Management departments will all offer places on selected courses. As part of this, the IED international network grant scholarship has launched the 'creative diary', a daily showcase that highlights the work of students who will all be competing to win one of the 36 international scholarships.
