This 350sl trunk lid badge came off a European 1972 350sl. These badges are kind of rare because they were only available in the US for a very short time. In fact, the US models weren't supposed to have the 350sl badge at all. They European models were 3.5 ltr V8s and therefore were called 350sl. In order to meet American emissions requirements, the US versions got stroked to 4.5 ltrs with lower compression. Hence the 450sl. But Mercedes did not have the 450sl badges ready in time when they launched the model in the US so they shipped with 350sl emblems. Later on, when these cars would go into the dealership for service, they would often remove the 350sl badge and replace it with the 450sl. This one is in pretty good shape, but not perfect. There is a little bend in the center, and one of the mounting posts is broken off. Please inspect the pictures carefully.
