Vauxhall has announced that it will take on 300 new staff at its Ellesmere Port plant, ready for production of the new Astra in 2015. Called the Borrego, after a Californian bighorn sheep, the styling is derived from a previous Detroit concept, the 2005 Mesa. The SUV will be available with either a V6, or Kia’s first V8.
