Vintage Mercury Outboard Direct Reverse Electric Starter Dock Buster 70hp on 2040-parts.com

US $150.00

Traverse City, Michigan, United States

Item listed is a used Direct Reversing Starter removed from a vintage 6 Cylinder Mercury Outboard Motor, 70hp. I am not sure if this was on a Mark 75, 78, or Merc700?- they used to call these motors "Dock Busters". I bought this for a project I have a while back but do not actually need the Direct Reversing Starter.  This is in good running/working order and I bench tested prior to listing. Both of Solenoids work as they should and the wiring looks to be in pretty good shape. This has been stored inside, out of the weather.

GM’s Henderson offers a ray of hope for Sky, Solstice

Mon, 11 May 2009

There appears to be a slight glimmer of hope for fans of the Saturn Sky and the Pontiac Solstice. CEO Fritz Henderson said that General Motors would be willing to sell its Wilmington, Del., plant, which builds the Sky and the Solstice--two eye-catching performance cars--if a buyer specifically wanted those niche products, similar to what Chrysler offered with its Dodge Viper business.

Geoff Polites, Jaguar Land Rover CEO: 1948-2008 By Gavin Green Motor Industry 21 April 2008 06:53 Geoff Polites, who died yesterday aged 60, will go down as one of the great British car industry bosses. Sales of the lame duck X- and S-types were fast evaporating; Jaguar was consistently failing to hit its financial forecasts; morale was poor.

Spyker at Salon Prive 2013 with B6 Venator & C8 Aileron – and maybe the Venator Spyder

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

The Spyker B6 Venator (pictured) will be at Salon Prive this year Victor Muller rolled out his new plans for Spyker ahead of the Geneva Motor Show this year with the arrival of the very convincing Spyker B6 Venator and typically grandiose plans to build and sell so many Spyker would be back on top. But Victor’s plans didn’t stop there, and by April it was clear that Spyker were also planning on building a Venator Spyder too as Victor’s plans to take on the £100k plus sports car market grew. So with plans to make Spyker a force to be reckoned with, Spyker are off to this year’s garden party with cars – Salon Prive – in September with not just the B6 Venator but also the C8 Aileron.
