Government reveals plans to cut cost of motoring

From next year, only evidence from accredited professionals will be considered in whiplash claims, meaning cheats will no longer be able to get away with exaggerated or fraudulent compensation claims. Peugeot-Citroen signs £1.3bn rescue deal

The far-eastern firm and the French government will each invest €800 million (around £660 million). Both organisations will receive a 14% stake in the business.
Driver escapes unhurt in rail crash
Tue, 16 Sep 2014A 67-YEAR-OLD woman motorist has escaped injury after her car went through a level crossing barrier and collided with a train. The incident happened at 6.05am today at Datchet crossing in Berkshire. Neither the driver nor the guard on the train, which was not in service, were hurt.
