2014 China Design Schools League Report

As well as recognizing the best student automotive design talent, Car Design Awards China also acknowledges the school whose students have had the most success in the competition. For the first time in the competition's five-year history, an award for Most Successful School was given, with the China Central Academy of Fine Art taking the inaugural win. The new category recognizes the institution that has entered the most prize winners and finalists into this year's competition, celebrating its excellence at nurturing the talent that is the life blood of the automotive industry.

General Motors Co. has halted production of Saturn cars and crossovers and plans to sell the thousands of Saturn vehicles it has in stock within the next four months. Many of the vehicles were built to supply to Penske Automotive Group Inc.

Kia's chief designer seeks a sporty car to blow the doors off its image

Kia's design boss wants to add a sports car or convertible to lend more appeal to the brand. No such car is officially in the pipeline, said Peter Schreyer, Kia's chief design officer. Kia first needs to get on more solid footing, he said.
