Here is a pair of neat old "anti-theft" accessory lock knobs from Montgomery Ward (we used to call it Monkey Ward's) that fit a number of cars.  Make sure your car is on the list below before buying.

Wards closed their stores back in the 1980's, and the vehicle applications list on these packages stops at 1966, and there are no bar codes on the packages.  I'm thinking these were actually made back in the late 60's.

These were factory sealed in their cloudy old package until I opened it to make sure that the parts are still in new condition, and they are.  They are plastic with a shiny chrome coating.  The bores are smooth and 1/8" diameter, so I guess the threads will get cut when they are screwed onto the steel lock rods.

These fit:

GENERAL MOTORS THROUGH 1958

FORD 1949 THROUGH 1964

FORD FAIRLANE, FALCON, MUSTANG, AND COMET 1965, 1966

CHRYSLER- ALL MODELS

That's exactly what the little papers say that were sealed right in the packages.

All that, and such a great deal on shipping!  You won't be charged additional shipping if you buy more than one pair delivered in the U.S.A.  You gotta' love it!!

Don’t forget to take a look at my other Ebay listings if you love old parts and ACCESSORIES!  More vintage car stuff every week!

Learners' bizarre superstitions revealed

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

NERVES can have a crippling effect on learner drivers once they get to test day. Here, instructors with the AA Driving School recall particularly superstitious students whose desire to get their full licence resulted in carrying out unusual rituals: :: One pupil wore the T-shirt she had on when she gave birth to her daughter (now seven years old) and the trousers she was wearing before she conceived. :: A learner had failed three times due to nerves.

2012 Kia Soul Facelift arrives in the UK

2012 Kia Soul Facelift arrives in the UK Earlier this year, at the New York Motor Show, we reported on what we called the 2011 Facelift for the Kia Soul. But as it’s now October, and the titivated Soul is only just arriving in the UK, we really ought to rename the latest Kia Soul the 2012 Facelift. But whatever year we append to the facelifted Soul, it’s still good to see Kia’s funky little Marmite car get some decent tweaks to move it forward.

Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE (2010) Review & Road Test part 3

Sun, 25 Apr 2010

The final part of our road test / review of the 2010 Range Rover Sport   It’s only been very recently that I’ve accepted that a diesel engine belongs in anything other than an HGV or a taxi. I’ve had to concede that maybe it’s not entirely realistic to want a petrol V8 in every car I drive, and there are now some very convincing diesel lumps around. They don’t sing like a good petrol lump, but the big wodge of torque most have really does go a very long way to compensate.
