Up for sale is a very beautiful NOS rear ashtray in the original box. The bezel surround has a striking art deco design. The front is covered in olive green mohair.

The bezel surround measures approximately 4 5/16" X 3" in diameter. The mohair door measures approximately 3" X 2 3/16".

Stamped on the box is: I-244545,  TRIM, 241838 , ASH, RECEIVER.

Stamped on the back of the ash tray is: GRAND RAPIDS METALCRAFT CORPORATION GRAND RAPIDS MICH. U.S.A.

Application: Based on my research this should fit Studebaker early 1930s. A similar design was also used in Ford Model A400 and Deluxe Phaeton. Auburn also used a similar design.  Please do your own research.

Condition: This is in very good NOS condition. It has never been used.

The ash tray: is in very good condition. This has been stored in the box, so is in good shape. There are no breaks or cracks in the metal. The mohair looks good overall, but has a few bare spots. The ash tray door opens and closes nicely. There is some light surface finish loss on the inside part of the door which touches the mohair.

The box: is holding together well, but shows it's age. Some of the printing has faded or worn off.

(Another) Audi A3 e-tron hybrid at Geneva 2013

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

The Audi A3 e-tron – a hybrid A3 EV based on the A3 Sportback – will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show as a concept. This Audi A3 e-tron isn’t a pointless electric supercar – like the R8 e-tron – or another rollout of the A3 e-tron BEV, but a hybrid A3 with a proper ICE engine coupled to an electric motor, just like the A3 e-tron concept we saw in Shanghai in 2011 That still means a lot of complicated and heavy technology to game the silly official economy tests and come up with ‘official’ economy figures of 158mpg and 35g/km, but the A3 e-tron would – if it were made – offer big tax breaks for company car drivers. The A3 e-tron gets a 1.4 litre direct injection petrol engine good for 148bhp working with an electric motor good for an extra 100bhp.

Vauxhall VXR8 (2007): first official pictures

Mon, 26 Feb 2007

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 26 February 2007 08:01 Vauxhall VXR8: the lowdown Fans of the recently departed Monaro, rejoice! Vauxhall has today announced its replacement, and it's another hairy-chested, Aussie bruiser: this VXR8 four-door. Although lacking the badge pedigree of the Lotus Carlton, comparisons with the fabled 1990s hot saloon aren't wide of the mark.

Jose Mourinho supercar (2014) first teaser shot

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 13 December 2013 17:56 In an own goal for taste, Chelsea FC manager Jose ‘Special One’ Mourinho has joined a joint project with tuning firm Mansory and self-styled high society club Raff House to create a new supercar. The finished car, of which just eleven will be made (accept no substitutes) is designed to ‘unite the best of Ferrari and Aston Martin’, according to the promotional literature. A single teaser image has been revealed, showing a carbonfibre-bodied coupe with vertical exhaust outlets and faintly McLaren 12C-esque rear lights.
