Up for bid is a Vintage V-6 chrome hood emblem, really cool – the mounting is great and the chrome is in good shape.  As you can see the chrome is shiny and in good shape but it has some hazing.  I just went over it with windex so this is how it looks right now but could be cleaned up probably and will shine even more.  Needs a little paint around the 6 but overall is a great item.  These are harder to find in good all original shape and ready to use as-is.  I am not an expert on this part, but I believe it is GM.  The numbers are in the close-up pic to review.  It was part of a vintage estate from Atlanta and has been in storage for years.  Little use item.  Ask any questions before bidding.

Crunch watch Dec 08: the auto industry in crisis

Wed, 31 Dec 2008

By Tim Pollard and Simon Stiel Motor Industry 31 December 2008 14:05 Wednesday 31 December 2008• GMAC, GM's finance arm, said it would immediately revise its criteria for providing loans, after the US government bail-out of the General's credit arm. It will now supply credit for anyone with a score of 621 or more on the Fico scale, the scale used to assess Amercian customers' creditworthiness (Financial Times)• The news means that 80% of US consumers would now qualify for a loan from GMAC – which should improve sales in the depressed US market (Detroit News)• Chrysler is being lambasted for taking out full-page adverts in the American national press thanking the nation for supporting its auto industry. But critics point out this is a fresh waste of bail-out resources, as pages in the Wall Street Journal – one of the titles in which the ad ran – reportedly cost up to $264,000.

Saab files for bankruptcy: the end of the Swedish saga

Mon, 19 Dec 2011

Saab has reached the end of the road - for the second time in two years, just before Christmas. Parent company Swedish Automobile today announced that Saab had filed for bankruptcy. Owner and acting CEO Victor Muller had been trying to sell Saab as a going concern and had come close to signing a deal with Chinese car makers Pang Da and Youngman, but the deal was blocked by former owner General Motors which feared its technology - powering the new 9-5, plenty of the 9-3 range and the 9-4X - would fall into opposition hands in China.
