98% fear UK road safety not improving
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Research conducted for the latest issue of the Auto Trader Owner’s Guide suggests that a staggering 98% of British motorists fear that the government is failing to improve safety on UK roads. Of the 3,000 drivers surveyed for the quarterly publication, 77% also want theory and practical driving skills to be taught in schools, while 60% are convinced the coming fixed penalty fines for careless driving will do nothing to benefit safety. London road casualties at lowest ever
Mon, 16 Jun 2014THE NUMBER OF DEATHS and serious injuries on the roads of London has fallen to its lowest ever, showing a 23% drop in 2013 compared to the previous best figures. Pedestrian figures are down even more at 25% for the same period. In 2013, there were 132 fatalities on London’s roads, which is the second lowest figure since records began.
Audi set to buy Ducati for $1.1 billion
Tue, 17 Apr 2012News wire reports in Europe on Tuesday said Audi is poised to buy Ialian motorcycle maker Ducati from owner Investindustrial for about $1.1 billion (860 million euros). Audi has reached an agreement with Investindustrial to buy the maker of luxury motorbikes, with VW's supervisory board set to approve the deal on Wednesday, said a person familiar with the details, who declined to be identified discussing the private negotiations. Audi and Investindustrial declined to comment.
