Report: Gasoline engine has big bang for the fuel-economy buck
Mon, 11 Oct 2010A government report says improving the gasoline engine will yield huge gains for the consumer and the environment as automakers consider ways to improve fuel economy over the next 14 years. The Obama administration's technical assessment looked at four technology scenarios by which automakers might attain suggested CAFE goals of 47 to 62 mpg for cars and light trucks by 2025. The scenarios differed by the portion of an automaker's fleet that was accounted for by electrics, hybrid electrics and plug-in hybrid electrics.
Toyoto Aygo goes Black and Blue
Mon, 02 Feb 2009The Aygo was launched back in 2005, as a sub-Yaris city car, and has carved a justifiably successful niche for itself across Europe, selling more than 100,000 in the process. Toyota Aygo updated for 2009 with new additions - The Toyota Aygo Black and The Toyota Aygo Blue The 2009 Aygo gets a few tweaks to improve fuel economy and emissions (now 106g/km) and a few body tweaks, including a re-sculpted nose.

And even Italy – once a major Southern European economy – seems to be as big a basket case as Greece and Cyprus if you start to dig a bit.
