Featured here is a vintage 1960's original electric Stewart Warner 8000 RPM tachometer.

It is the Greenline version, 970's series.

It has the movable shift indicator dial.

The face is 3 3/8.  It has a hairline scratch between 7000 and 8000.

The RPM and shift indicator dial have bright orange colors and are in excellent condition.

The dial moves freely and the needle bounces.

Tach has a chrome head and pedestal mount.  It has pitting on top right side.

The wiring has 4 connectors and colors are red, green, black and white.

I cannot attest to the working condition of this tach as I have no way of testing it.

UPS ground shipping and insurance will be $12 in the continental USA.  Alaska and Hawaii will incur added freight.

And secondly, I thought the original BMW X3 was truly awful.

Concept Car of the Week: Oldsmobile Aerotech (1987)

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

In late 1984, Oldsmobile management had so much confidence in the potential of its new inline four-cylinder engine Quad 4, that a small team was assigned to the creation of the Aerotech, a research vehicle designed to demonstrate the engine's performance by setting a new world speed record. Ed Welburn, then assistant chief designer, was mostly working on the 1988 Cutlass Supreme but his passion for race cars made him the ideal candidate to be handed the assignment by Oldsmobile 2 studio's chief David North. Inspired by Le Mans racers such as the Porsche 917LH and Jim Hall's Chaparrals, he designed a long, flowing car that immediately seduced design director Chuck Jordan and GM management.
