Vintage “tappet shim set” made in Japan. Includes shim tool, Suzuki P/N 09916-64510.
Sturdy hinged metal box measures about 11 x 7 x 1.5 inches and contains forty-two (42) 29.5mm diameter valve shims as follows:
215 x 1, 220 x 1, 225 x 1, 235 x 1, 240 x 1, 245 x 1, 250 x 1, 255 x 1, 260 x 3, 265 x 3, 270 x 6, 275 x 9, 280 x 5, 285 x 4, 290 x 1, 300 x 1, 305 x 1, 310 x 1.
All the shims are used. Some may not have the thickness marking clearly visible. I would advise using a micrometer to verify every shim. This is the best procedure anyway because all shims have a tolerance associated with them, and you can use this to your advantage in setting the valve clearances more precisely.
There is room for a total of 120 shims in the box.

Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid gets 108 MPGe
Thu, 11 Oct 2012Ford Motor Company announced that its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid achieves an EPA-certified 108 miles-per-gallon-equivalent (MPGe) city and 100 MPGe combined. The rating makes the C-Max Energi the most efficient plug-in hybrid by MPG-e according to the listings on the Environmental Protection Agency Web site. The only vehicles to rank higher were the all-electric 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV with a combined MPGe of 112, and the 2012 Ford Focus EV with 110 MPGe.
Nissan GT-R 2010 UK updates
Tue, 10 Nov 2009Nissan has revealed the changes to the 2010 GT-R At the Tokyo Motor Show Nissan brought along the 2010 Nissan GT-R with a raft of minor tweaks and adjustments for their supercar killing four seat coupe. We thought that they’d probably be available just in Japan to kick off with (the 2010 GT-R launches there in December) but Nissan has sent us the 2010 updates for the GT-R for the UK and Europe this afternoon, so it looks like it’s updates round the world. Just about all the changes are under the skin for the GT-R.
Fifth-generation BMW M5 teased in new video
Fri, 04 Mar 2011BMW is preparing a fifth generation of the high-performance M5 sedan. We expect to get a turbocharged V8 making about 550 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. BMW plans to roll out the new M5 at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
