This Vintage Weems and Plath Hand Bearing Compass harkens back to the 1950s and is in nice working condition.  It takes two C size batteries (batteries included) that illuminate the compass rose.  This feature is now working as can be seen in my pictures.  It also comes with a red bulb for night vision viewing and a very nice dovetailed wooden box with a leather carrying strap.  A very nice collectible piece!!!
