Celebrity chef Guy Fieri's stolen Lamborghini recovered a year later
Tue, 01 May 2012While it might seem that a thief disappearing into the night with a celebrity's Lamborghini would be something out of a Nicholas Cage movie, it proves that truth sometimes is stranger than fiction. In May 2011, someone broke into the British Motor Car Distributors dealership in San Francisco one night and drove off with a yellow 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. The Lambo, owned by celebrity chef and friend of Autoweek Guy Fieri, was seemingly lost forever.
Closed-road racing made legal in the UK
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Could the UK host its own Mille Miglia? By Adam Binnie Motoring Issues 11 July 2014 15:52 A London Grand Prix on closed streets or even a Pikes Peak style hill-climb in the Lake District could now by possible after the Government approved plans to allow motorsport events on public roads. It is hoped that the decision to allow staged rallies, hill climbs and trials of speed on closed-road street circuits will give the country’s motorsport industry a jump start. Prime minister David Cameron made the announcement today while touring the new Formula One Williams factory in Oxfordshire.
Renault Alpine A110-50 to be developed with Caterham
Tue, 02 Oct 2012It seems the impressive Renault Alpine A110-50 is heading for production with Caterham, not Lotus, as development partner. Which is part of the reason Renault want a partner on-board to help with development and production of the Renault Alpine A110-50 – a new Alpine based on a Megane platform with a DeZir body – and turn it, hopefully, from a track concept to the first Alpine for the road in twenty years. It had been mooted that Renault were eyeing up Lotus to partner on the Alpine A110-50, but according to a report from Autocar they are instead working with Caterham to bring the A110-50 to life.
