Last good pair! Please bid with confidence I realize it is difficult to determine these are authentic/geniune being in such great shape based on photos alone. Returns accepted!

One (1) is just about mint/NOS, the other has a really small peck and noticable chip next to each other. It is noticable from the side not really head on, I highlighted these in 4 pics pointing at it with the pen.  PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES yourself, I have provided as many as possible so you can come to the same or different conclusion. These are ORIGINAL 30s/40s reflectors!  These are the saddle bag mounts that have the shorter, thicker studs and were the only way to attach bags from the factory until about 1948.  The stud is steel and housing is aluminum. Needless to say, studs are good, not loose. Weight is 16 grams for each jewel.

A few things I look for to determine these are NOT modern day REPOPS, hopefully this will help you as well:
  • No markings on the 30s/40s jewels
  • Small bubbles will be in the glass (pics do show some of them)
  • The repop case slopes down before it turns under and the Glo-Brite has more of a rounded edge
  • The bolt on most repops is shorter and not as thick as an orginal
  • The glass (acrylic) on a repop will be a little taller has a much smaller edge
  • Acrylis repops are lighter at 10 grams, originals will be heavier at 16-17 grams
  • The egde on the repops is not as sharp on the 30s-40s originals.
  • The older reflectors will have small "scratches" on the from compressing the casings, modern day machines do not leave these marks

Shipping to lower 48 only, priority mail, should have it within 4 days of your order.

Thanks

Patrick Long and the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0: Caffeine Delivery System

Wed, 09 May 2012

If you were Porsche's only North American factory driver, and if you'd won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, you might feel as if you had every right to be a less-than-swell character. After all, those bona fides unquestionably position you as one of the finer shoes on the planet. Patrick Long, however, is a nice dude.
