Volkswagen Amarok Tow Bar LED Module & Wiring Towbar Westfalia VW OEM

VW & Westfalia at its best. Volkswagen has been cooperating with Westfalia for over 100 years and they have developed cream de la cream systems for tow bar fitment. Easy to install, intuitive, plug & play electrics and proper VW module which is fully accessible with ODIS, VAS or VCDS for self install. Your Amarok will have the best tow bar system in the world - a system which works with your engine management, ABS Brakes and ESP Module, Optical Parking Sensors which do not beep at you when the trailer is connected, genuine reversing camera and full CAN gateway as well as others. None other manufacturer works in the same way in Australia. Made in Germany product is the only way to go when installing a towbar & towbar electrics.

Tow Bar, to work correctly, requires a VW module. This is responsible for CAN communication with other modules:

  • engine - when towing it works differently to cope with extra load - sometimes switches additional fan to cool
  • ABS / ESP module - these work differently when trailer is hooked to avoid jack knifing.
  • CECM - This power module distributes power in another way when trailer is hooked - also visually aids the driver when trailer is hooked on dashboard
  • OPS - This is coded so when trailer is hooked up sensors do not beep
  • CAN gateway - trailer module is coded into the gateway (main comms hub) so the car and other modules know what to do
  • RVC - reversing camera - similar thing to parking sensors - recognises the trailer on the screen switches off dynamic lines
  • 5F Information Electronics - ensures entertainment system displays all the trailer info correctly.

Overall when the proper VW / Westfalia module is fitted it is safer & easier for the car & driver to deal with the trailer.

So strip away the sexed-up exhausts, 20in wheels and other trinkets and what you're looking at here is the new 2013 BMW 4-series.

Rosberg on pole for Mercedes in Japan – Vettel leaving Red Bull.

Sat, 04 Oct 2014

Rosberg beats Hamilton to pole in Japan Lewis Hamilton must have been confident of taking pole for the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka this morning after his resurgence in recent races – in the process taking the lead in the drivers F1 battle – but it wasn’t to be. Hamilton’s car needed a major front end rebuild after he ran wide and hit the barrier in final practice – which may have contributed to his qualifying result – but whatever the excuses it’s Rosberg in front of Hamilton for tomorrow’s race after posting a time 0.197s quicker than the Brit. Behind the two Mercedes cars it’s a Williams second row – with Bottas in third and Massa in fourth – followed by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso in what is fast becoming his default place – 5th – and Daniel Ricciardo in sixth.
