Chris Bangle is a man that needs no introduction on these pages. Both revered and castigated, Bangle's work has undoubtedly been influential for a generation of designers. His unconventional practices – employed at a time when design was still largely segregated from other departments during the development process – yielded many avantgarde and contentious designs, but Bangle's fundamental understanding of the design process, creative vision and desire for change can never be cast in doubt. While Bangle shares his views on the future of the car in the video to the right, the video to the left provides an insight into the former BMW design chief's thought processes and gives us a glimpse into his home and studio in the Piedmont region of northern Italy.

Porsche has revealed the new 911 991 Turbo Cabriolet and Turbo S Cabriolet range – a 197mph open-top Porsche 911. Boasting 520hp even in standard Turbo guise, and a huge 560hp in Turbo S form, the new 911 991 Turbo Cabriolet range follows hot on the heels of the new 911 991 Turbo coupe range, which MSN Cars drove back in August. SRT Viper logo redesigned for 2013

STR – Street and Racing Technology, Chrysler Groups' new, standalone performance brand – has unveiled the new logo for its 2013 Viper as it continues to tease the new version of its now iconic model. Designed by Chrysler designer Vince Galante, STR says that the logo, christened ‘Stryker', conveys the "sinister look and evil grin of the original, while giving it a more playful appearance." Galante also says the lines of Stryker are indicative of those that will feature on the 2013 STR Viper. Stryker will be the third design to grace the Viper series, following Sneaky Pete and Fangs and was selected from a number of suggestions at the 2010 Viper Owners Invitational.
