This is a mechanical 14 VDC HUCO voltage regulator that I purchased in 1986 that I intended to replace a 1973 Volvo 164E regulator. I later determined that the existing regulator was working satisfactorily, it was a faulty diode on the alternator. So, this regulator is in new, never used condition but I am not certain which vehicles of the 1970- 1980 vintage are an appropriate fit although I was told by the vendor that this is compatible with 1970's Volvos.

Spy-Shot Bonanza

Thu, 26 Jul 2012

Below is a collection of reader-submitted spy shots. Frankly, we're stumped as to what these pictures show us, but speculation ranges from a BMW SUV in the first images, to a new BMW 7-series in the next set, to “your guess is as good as ours” for the last vehicle, caught testing in the Czech Republic. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to identify as many of the following images and report your guesses in the Comments section below.

Hyundai ix35 FCEV production starts – & previews the ix35 facelift?

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Hyundai has started production of the ix35 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle which perhaps previews the facelift for the ix35. We revealed last year that Hyundai were pushing ahead with their hydrogen fuel cell cars (and eschewing battery EVs in the process) with plans to start rolling the Hyundai ix35 FCEV off the production line by the end of 2012. That plan slipped just a little, but the first ix35 FCEV has now rolled of the production line in Korea (pictured above) as Hyundai work towards full scale production of the ix35 FCEV by 2015.

Hyundai Veloster Turbo R planned?

Tue, 31 Jul 2012

The rumours are growing that Hyundai is preparing a Veloster Turbo R with more power than the regular Veloster turbo. We still haven’t seen the Hyundai Veloster Turbo arrive in the UK (although it’s not far off) yet the rumours are already growing that Hyundai are preparing a more powerful Turbo ‘R’ version. Motor Authority have been chatting with Hyundai in the US who seem to be saying there’s room for the Veloster Turbo to get more powerful and more dynamic.
