Peugeot 3008 HDi 150 Review & Road Test (2010)
Mon, 09 Aug 2010The Peugeot 3008 - is a Crossover just a compromise? We’ve long wondered if the whole Crossover fad – for a Crossover is what the Peugeot 3008 Sport HDi 150 we have to play with this week is – is just a secret campaign by big car makers to cut down the number of styles of each model they need to offer. After all, why bother with a hatchback, an estate, a saloon, a soft roader SUV and an MPV when you can claim that you have one model that can cover all the bases.
Happy New Year – a look back at 2009
Fri, 01 Jan 2010Happy New Year from all at Cars UK It would be easy to do what every car site seems to be doing and either look back at the favourite new cars of 2009 – or the last decade as we move on to 2010 – or look forward to what 2010 will bring. But we decided to indulge ourselves a little and look back at what 2009 meant for Cars UK. Cars UK came to life on the interweb at the very end of 2008.
VW Taigun Compact SUV heading for production
Tue, 23 Apr 2013It was a good-looking and appealing effort from VW to tap in to the very compact SUV market, with a real family look (a Tiguan on a boil wash), peppy little 3-cylinder 1.0 litre engine delivering 108bhp and a 0-62mph of 9.2 seconds (with 60mpg economy) and enough room to carry stuff and people thanks to an extra 50mm in the wheelbase compared to the Up! Now it looks like the Taigun is heading for production after VW’s Chief designer, Klaus Bishoff, told Autoexpress that he deeply believed the Taigun would be heading for VW showrooms very soon, and could be sold in the UK and Europe as well as in emerging markets. So you can add the Taigun to the list of VW’s SUV offerings, and with new versions of the Tiguan and Touareg (perhaps based on the CrossBlue Concept) and a Polo based SUV on the way too, it looks like VW are covering all the bases.
