Porsche 918 Spyder to get 4.6 litre V8 The Porsche 918 Spyder is to get a 4.6 litre V8 and lose one of its electric motors when it launches after a Frankfurt 2013 debut. It’s almost two years since the Porsche 918 Spyder debuted at the Geneva Motor show as a potential 21st century eco-replacement for the Carrera GT. The amount of interest shown – and offers of deposits – persuaded Porsche to confirm the 918 Spyder for production last March, but it’s still more than eighteen months away from arriving on the road.

Porsche boss Mueller: A launch every year, 200,000 sales by 2018

By 2018, Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller, 57, aims to boost annual global sales to more than 200,000 units, up from 97,000 in 2010. To do so, he will introduce at least one new Porsche every year. Mueller, a former executive at Volkswagen AG, replaced Michael Macht as Porsche AG CEO in October.

DRIVERS in the UK are missing out on saving £2 billion by not shopping around for the best insurance deal and simply going with their automatic renewal. This means 8.2 million drivers in the UK are missing out on saving and average of £222.66 each. A study has found 36% of drivers have been with the same insurer for three years or more and less than half of all drivers (46%) check their new quote against the previous year’s to make sure they are getting the best deal.
