OEM Volvo 240 early-style black third row seat in excellent condition. Incredibly rare, definitely one of the most interesting parts I've seen. The seat is constructed into three separate pieces, all of which bolt onto the rear wood trunk panel of your wagon. I have done my best to illustrate how the seat folds/comes together with the original panel from the car. Please note that the wood panel shown is not included with this listing. The kit includes: the three-part seat cushion, two latch-on arm rests, two third row seat belts, and all installation hardware. The cushions are very clean and there are no rips or stains. A natural denting from the seat belt housing has formed on the middle cushion but it really helps as a guide when putting it together :) Other than that, the seat is in beautiful condition. The very top piece of the seat has a two-part headrest that folds over the rear seat-- I believe there is a small strap that connects the two but it appears to be missing. Seat fits 1973-74 145's and 1975-78 240 station wagons exclusively. It may fit (or be made to fit!) other 240 models, but I cannot confirm this. Just note that it will not fit 145 models with the metal handles on the rear seat. Please overview the images shown and compare them to your vehicle before purchase. Seat will be disassembled for safe shipping and will require reassembly. Please refer to the last 3 pictures for confirmation of what you are receiving. As always, feel free to message me with questions or concerns.

How will you get to work in the year 2030?

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Imagine a future where New Jersey adopts mass public transit and on-demand jitneys; Boston becomes hyper-dense and walking becomes the primary means of transport; Atlanta disperses even further and relies on solar power, electric cars and Google connected technologies to manage mobility; and Los Angeles tries autonomous cars, but finds the transition difficult, and its gridlock even worse. These are the scenarios proposed in a new study by New York University's Rudin Center for Transport Policy and Management. The report, which proposes scenarios rather than making predictions about the future of transportation in the US, repeatedly points to connected car technologies, autonomous cars and logistics networks as driving forces in regional mobility solutions.

Think you can talk and drive? Not so much…

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

It has been well documented that texting while driving is a risky practice that results in thousands of motor-vehicle deaths each year. But talking rather than texting isn't really a better alternative, according to experts at the National Safety Council. The council is hoping to better explain why driving and talking on a cell phone is so dangerous by examining how the brain works when faced with multiple cognitive tasks.
