This listing covers one used and functional center cup holder slider assembly which is part of the center console on 850 1995 through 1997, C70 1998-2004, and all S70 and V70 1998 through 2000. This item is in good used, functional condition, and it consists of the plastic cupholder slider assembly only, as pictured.  There is some wear of the rubber anti-rattle fingers and the other is missing, as depicted.  No upholstery is included, nor is the plastic base and escutcheon.  This assembly may be used with any interior trim combination. All plastic parts pictured are dark gray which was used in 70's.  It is so close in color to the black used in 850's that there would be virtually no mismatch. So it can be substituted.

Caution, be very careful not to apply to much pressure to avoid cracking or breaking these plastic parts.

Installation is relatively very simple and only requires the partial removal of the forward 2 screws (use torx #25 driver) which are accessible when the center console lid is opened. Slightly separating the trim piece from the base will allow the slider to be pulled out.

There were two different versions of this cupholder design which were supplied by Volvo. They all interchange and can be used in any 850, S70, or V70 produced from about mid-1995 through 2000, and some later C70 models. The black used in 850's and the Dark Gray in 70 series exactly match the other dashboard/interior plastics used in each model.  

These two versions differ mainly in the horizontally extending arms. The later design is that which is pictured and what is to be supplied in this listing has shorter arms which are not restrained at their ends and allow the use of slightly larger cups  The other design has longer arms which are restricted from over-extension by slots in the body.  Most component parts do not interchange between the two designs.

The latest production of this second version had recesses in the cover into which the horizontal arm pins were inserted, thus making them stronger and more resistant to breakage.The item in this auction is actually depicted.
