Infiniti releases Q50 teaser video
Thu, 03 Jan 2013Infiniti has released a short clip teasing its new Q50 sedan ahead of its reveal in Detroit this month. From the video we can see the Q50's new headlight design that integrates a curving LED ‘eyebrow', while we can see more LEDs around the main lamps, bringing the lamp graphics found on the brand's recent concept cars to production. The Q50 will be the first model to launch under the carmaker's new naming policy, where each model will see either a Q (sedans) or a QX (crossovers and SUVs) attached to its name.
Infiniti Steer-by-Wire on the way (video)
Wed, 17 Oct 2012Nissan has revealed that it plans to install an electronic steer-by-wire system in to its Infiniti models in 2013. As car makers seek to squeeze every last fraction of a mile out of their cars to hit economy and emissions targets, computer control of many of a car’s functions are controlled by computer, which means the official tests for economy and emissions can be guaranteed to produce predictable results. Now Nissan are to take electronic steering to its logical conclusion by eliminating any direct connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels (except in an emergency) with the first fly-by-wire steering system in a production car.
Porsche 911 Turbo (2010) unveiled
Fri, 07 Aug 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 07 August 2009 10:14 This is Porsche’s new 911 Turbo, with an enlarged and twin-turbocharged engine producing more power, plus the option of a twin-clutch gearbox that features proper gearshift paddles. Unbelievably, it’s the first entirely new engine in the 35-year history of the Turbo. Essentially it’s the same direct-injection 3.8-litre flat-six that you’ll find in regular 911s, but now fitted with variable geometry twin turbos to give a healthy 493bhp, a 20bhp increase over the current car.
