Range Rover LRX announced

The Range Rover LRX will debut in 2010 and go on sale in 2011 We last reported on the Land Rover LRX last month, when it became pretty clear that Land Rover are pushing ahead with the project after receiving some Government funding for the LRX Concept in March. And it seemed that they were planning to show the RR LRX in June next year – 40 years on from the first showing of the original luxury off-roader – the Range Rover – in 1970. That now seems to be confirmed, with Land Rover stating the LRX will debut next year and go on sale in 2011.

New MINI to be unveiled on 18 November

The new third-generation MINI Hatch will be revealed at the British brand’s Oxford factory on the 18 November, ahead of a simultaneous showcase at the 2013 LA and Tokyo Motor Shows two days later. In a nice touch from the BMW-owned carmaker, the special unveiling event will be held 107 years to the day since creator of the original Mini, Sir Alec Issigonis, was born. Andy Saunders sells 'Art Cars' collection

British 'car artist' Andy Saunders' 'Art Car' collection was sold by RM Auctions in London, UK on October 29, along with a selection of classic cars and a McLaren F1 that sold for £2.5 million - a new world record. Though lacking the quality of many Californian custom cars when seen close up, the Art Cars were fascinating to see, and unlike other custom car creators, Saunders has made almost all of the cars for himself; conceiving and creating the cars without any design process beyond thinking them through and getting his hands dirty in evenings after work.  Each of the cars introduced new themes not evident in their donor designs and, within the context of many salubrious but established classic car designs at the auction, they had a powerful quixotic appeal.
