Volvo Penta AQ200 or 250...I'm not certain of which it is.

This unit came off a 1969 Glasspar Commodore charger and was mated with OMC Ford 302 Interceptor Motor. The drive has not had oil in it or ran in about 10 Years.

The unit is labeled Eaton Interceptor, but as the Drives serial plate clearly states, is a Volvo Penta.

Since it was mated to a 302 it has to have a 1.5 or 1.6 Gear Ratio

The unit itself appears to be in serviceable condition, and will ship without oil. The top and lower end were opened for inspection purposes only to inspect the gearing. The drive was pressure tested and held 5 PSI for about 30 Min, but started to bleed off after that. The drive was down to 3 PSI after 4 hours. The unit could probably use a seal job. Parts are still available from Volvo Penta.

The bellows need to be replaced and will not ship with the unit.

The Unit shifts smoothly, and turns smoothly.

This sale will come with the following items:
1. Volvo Penta Stern Drive
2, Volvo Penta Transom Shield
3. Volvo Penta Engine Coupler and associated parts.
4. The prop and nose cone shown in the photos.

I cannot guarantee every running aspect of the unit, only that is was in working when it was last used 10 years ago.

Who killed Pontiac? Ask Bob Lutz

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Bob Lutz is not a man who can be contained within 140 characters. This past weekend he spoke at the Petersen as part of the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, hosted by friend of Autoweek George Notaras (past events have been with Ralph Gilles and Derek Jenkins). Lutz talked at length about his childhood in Switzerland, early memories working for Ford and Chrysler, the time he swayed BMW management away from building Mercedes-like luxoboats, and what Lee Iacocca was really like behind closed doors.

BMW's M Sport 7-series (2009): first official pictures

Fri, 26 Jun 2009

By James Popsys First Official Pictures 26 June 2009 00:01 BMW has revealed its first ever M Sport 7-series, engine revisions for its best-selling 730d, and a new 740d that will become the most powerful ever Seven diesel when in goes on sale in September 2009.  There's an M Aerodynamic bodykit with bigger front and rear bumpers, questionable chrome highlights, and some rather tasty 19-inch twin-spoke alloys. On the inside brushed aluminium trim, an anthracite headlining, sport seats, an M Sport steering wheel and M Sport sill inlays complete the package.  Afraid not - the 740d is equipped with a 306bhp/443lb ft 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine. The result is a 0-62 sprint completed in just 6.3 seconds, a limited top speed of 155mph top speed, 40.9mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 181g/km.
