Mercedes-Benz is reportedly considering a deal to buyout sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, which would increase the firm’s current 5% stake in the British brand. Following a deal to supply AMG engines to Aston for its next generation of vehicles (hence the current 5% share), a buyout or even further investment in Aston Martin could be beneficial to both brands. Bentley icons old and new set for Goodwood Festival of Speed

Bentley will be bringing new and veteran cars to the Goodwood Festival of Speed set for June 26 through 29 this year, including a pair of historic Le Mans cars. The popular event has become a world stage for automakers over the last few years, but few marques have as much history to show off during the four days of the event as Bentley. For starters, the new Continental GT V8 S will be making its first appearance at Goodwood in the Supercar paddock.

GM cuts Facebook ad spending, but Ford steps on the gas

On the eve of Facebook's wildly anticipated initial public stock offering, General Motors said May 15 that it will stop buying advertisements on Facebook--about $10 million a year--but "remains committed" to the social network as part of "an aggressive content strategy with all our products and brands." In other words, GM will not pay Facebook for ads but will continue to maintain content, for which Facebook doesn't collect revenue. News of the decision was reported in The Wall Street Journal. But GM's position is far from universal.
