New Kia Flagship Showroom in West London
Mon, 10 Dec 2012With Kia sales growing strongly in the UK, Kia are building a new flagship showroom in West London next to the A4 and M4. Just like sister car maker Hyundai, Kia’s offerings are becoming more credible with every new model and in a clear sign of the ever-rising confidence from the Koreans, Kia is planning a big new flagship showroom in West London. The new Kia showroom – which will sit alongside the A4 and M4 in Brentford, key car showroom territory – will consist of four floors, a curved facade with a ‘floating’ upper showroom with multi-level parking for visitors, and extend to a rather large 41,237 sq ft.
Peter Schreyer introduces Kia's new Sportage
Mon, 26 Jul 2010It's a sign of just how significant the new Sportage is for Kia that rather than flying UK journalists to an international launch location the company instead rented a boutique hotel in London's Notting Hill, created a sketch gallery in the basement and flew in key members of the car's development team to meet the press — who were then lent some the first new Sportage's in the UK to test for a month. One executive present at the event was Kia's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. Car Design News was invited to meet with Peter to talk about his role at Kia and for him to talk us through a vehicle Kia is billing as the first to be designed entirely under his tenure.
Abarth Punto EVO gets esseesse boost
Fri, 08 Jul 2011Abarth Punto EVO esseesse gets an extra 15 horses The Fiat 1.4 litre lump which powers the Abarth Punto EVO is already a lively little thing. Despite its rather modest capacity it manages to deliver a healthy 165bhp, enough to scoot the Abarth Punto EVO to 62mph in 7.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 133mph. Far from shoddy.
