Running Volvo Penta MD11C Marine Engine with out Transmission
I Originally assembled this engine from refurbished used parts for a spare engine for my sailboat in 1995. The engine is not complete due to missing accessories. The accessories shown are not guaranteed. It is basically being sold as a running long block. At the time of assembly the Crankshaft, Main Bearings, Pistons, Rods and Rod bearings were checked in good condition and re-used. The cylinders were honed, pistons were cleaned, and new rings were installed. The pump and injectors were sent to fuel shop for cleaning and testing. New engine gaskets were installed. A block off plate was made to seal the transmission mounting area for test running purposes. The engine was run for a few hours on the test stand. Fuel preservative was ran before shutdown and the fuel system was completely drained. Marvel Mystery oil was poured into cylinders and crankcase. The engine was then sealed shut and placed in dry storage until last month. Upon removal from storage. The heads were removed and disassembled.The old mystery oil cleaned from cylinders and drained from crankcase The valves and seats received a light grinding to clean up seal areas. The valves were lubed and the heads reassembled and installed . The fuel system primed with new fuel and the engine oil changed. The engine was then test ran briefly to verify working order.
