Lamborghini is paying tribute to its longtime test driver, Valentino Balboni, by putting his name on a limited run of rear-wheel-drive Gallardos. It's called the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni, which denotes the 550-hp rating. It's the only current Lamborghini that channels power to just the rear wheels.

The English and German companies produced the unloved SLR together, but the new MP4-12C and SLS are fresh supercar starts for the pair. And although the McLaren is technically impressive, it isn’t a supercar stunner – the SLS emphatically is, with a long, low nose, stubby tail and incredible gullwing doors.
