The 2011 BMW 6-Series Coupe is revealed Having turned new car release convention on its head by revealing the 2011 BMW 6 Series Convertible first, BMW has now decided they ought to make the BMW 6 Series Coupe official ahead of its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next month. And, as expected,we get pretty much what we got at the Paris Motor Show where BMW were calling this the 6-Series Coupe Concept – a tin-top version of the 6-Series Convertible. The lines of the 2011 6-Series (as always, make that 2012 BMW 6 Series across the Pond) are less jarring than the last model.

Nearly a half of male drivers admit to sleeping at the wheel

Nearly half of male drivers admit to having fallen asleep at the wheel, a survey has found. Road safety charity Brake and insurance company Direct Line found that 31% of all drivers admit to ‘head-nodding’ at the wheel – meaning they’ve fallen asleep while driving a car for between two and 30 seconds. Ford once planned to race fiberglass-bodied Mustang touring cars

Tucked away on page nine of the May 9, 1964 issue of Competition Press and Autoweek is an intriguing little story: “FIA Rejects Ford Bid for Homolgation [sic].” At the time, the Mustang had just made its world debut, but Ford was already scheming to fold the car into its “Total Performance” campaign. The automaker apparently proposed to do so with a fleet of crazy fiberglass-bodied touring cars. According to Competition Press, Ford tried to get the new Mustang classified as a touring car for international racing.
