Land Rover blocking Range Rover Evoque sales to ‘Dishonest’ buyers
Thu, 31 May 2012Land Rover are blocking sales of the Range Rover Evoque in an effort to stem the flow of cars out of the UK from ‘dishonest’ buyers Over the last few days we’ve had a number of emails from disgruntled readers who’ve been unable to collect their new Range Rover Evoque from their dealer, despite their Evoque being with the dealer and being paid for in full. It transpires that Land Rover are trying to control the supply of the Evoque to businesses and individuals who may sell it on or export it, but their weapon of choice seems to be a bit blunt. So far, after just a few phone calls, we’re aware of over 50 Evoques where Land Rover has either cancelled the order or refused to release the car.

There will be four trim levels available – Access, Active, Allure and Feline – all with up to 1,660-litres of boot space, with four petrol and five diesel engine options on offer including the new 3-cylinder PureTech 1.2-litre e-THP with either 110 or 130bhp as well as BlueHDI models with emissions as low as 85g/km. Smart watches can issue regular updates from internet services, apps and the user’s mobile phone, but the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) is urging people to turn them off while at the wheel. In a statement the IAM said: “The latest piece of wearable technology from Apple will allow users to make and receive calls, check their messages and monitor their health by operating the device on their wrists.
