Why should I buy a Steel Skid Plate/Sump Guard?

Our heavy duty Steel Skid Plate kit protects all of the parts in the bottom of the engine bay, including the cast aluminum oil pan/sump, a/c compressor, radiator, condenser, transmission/gearbox, and rear subframe. These items, and especially the very thin cast aluminum oil pan/sump, can be easily damaged by road debris, hitting large bumps and potholes, ice chunks, and minor off-road excursions. Many engines have been destroyed by debris putting a hole or a crack in the aluminum oil pan/sump and the subsequent loss of oil and oil pressure. Damage often occurs when bottoming out. In addition, the plastic belly pan that comes with these cars is often damaged or missing. A replacement factory plastic belly pan is costly. Why replace it when you can buy a highly protective steel skid plate/sump guard? Installing our hefty 2mm thick steel skid plate/sump guard will help you avoid costly repairs and give you peace of mind that your engine is protected!

Frankfurt 2011: 2012 Subaru XV gets unveiled

Thu, 15 Sep 2011

2012 Subaru XV arrives on the Frankfurt stage We did moan – which we have been known to, from time to time – about the tease for the launch of the 2012 Subaru XV at Frankfurt. We moaned because we couldn’t see the point. We couldn’t see the point in Subaru teasing the XV with art photos, particularly when those photos showed a production XV which looked exactly like the concept XV.

Subaru BRZ: Increased supply for UK market

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

There will be more Subaru BRZs (pictured) in the UK The Toyota GT86, and it’s Subaru BRZ sibling, have been a big hit in the UK, and around the world, with lovers of (almost affordable) sports cars that aren’t overloaded by tech and weight. But until now the BRZ version of the Japanese sports car has been in reactively short supply as Toyota takes the vast majority of production to fill its customers needs, but for those who’d prefer to take the slightly left-field BRZ route, there’s good news. Subaru has announced that they are increasing the supply of BRZs in to the UK market which means car buyers with a hankering should now be able to get a new BRZ in 2-6 weeks (depending on spec and colour).

Mercedes fixes diesel injector problems

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

Mercedes say that a new injector system for C Class and E Class diesels with the OM651 engine have now been fixed. So extensive was the problem that many owners were waiting months for their cars to be fixed as Mercedes struggled with a mounting pile of broken cars and injectors that were failing. Mercedes tell us that the problem was fixed with the release of new injectors later in 2010, but Cars UK readers have continued to complain about their cars needing multiple visits to dealers with injectors failing multiple times (that original story garnered more than 500 comments from disgruntled Mercedes owners).
