It’s complete with wiring for hook-up including the wire and socket for the light bulb and mounting tabs. Bulb is still in the socket, but broken. It appears to be complete with no parts missing. I assume that it’s for a 6 Volt system. No rust or damage from abuse. I don’t know if it works and am selling it as is. The time adjustment dial works fine and the fast/slow adjustment on the back side works freely. It has some writing on the back side that says “The Geo. W. Borg Corp. Chicago, U.S.A.” There is more wording, but one would have to take it apart to read it all. That’s up to the next owner. It is also stamped on the back side and it says “Aug 50”. I have no clue what make or model car/truck it might be original to. I’ll let the photos say the rest.

Feel free to email with any questions or need for more photos.

Please see shipping calculator for actual postage cost for US sales. I guarantee you that if you are overcharged by $2 or more for shipping, I will refund that amount to you. Always happy to combine shipping. Thanks for looking, and good luck!

Car making mysterious noises? There's an app for that

You may pride yourself on your ability to diagnose a developing engine problem by sound alone, and then replicate said mystery sound, Click-and-Clack-style, to amuse/annoy your friends and coworkers. ClingClanger is a new phone app that's designed for the rest of the world -- those who can't identify piston slap by sound and are startled by the clicking caused by a dying battery. The natural impulse is to simply crank up the radio and hope the noise/problem goes away.

One Lap of the Web: a Brat, a Saab, and best classic cars for college

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

-- We have our own views regarding perfect cars for college freshmen, none of which are endorsed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or any insurance company (except perhaps Hagerty), but Petrolicious has come up with some proper choices as well. And they're actually quite reasonable. As students are getting back to their respective institutions of higher learning, check out Petrolicious' "Seven Vintage Cars for College Freshmen." -- A GAZ 13 Chaika for sale on eBay out of Moldova claims Soviet Union General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev provenance....
