With NO writing, rips or tears except the inside cover of the maual has the previous owners info written in it and the Bridgestone tires warrently booklet has the previous owners info filled out as well for the warrenty. And there is some water spots on the front and back cover of the manual and on the emssions warrenty booklet covers and some water slightly wrinkled pages inside. Copyright is 1974 on the manual and warrenty booklet and the tire warrenty is dated 1976 when he got the tires. Everything comes in a factory VW vinyl holder from the Santa Monica VW dealer in California. Comes as shown in the pics. Ready for some reading fun.....”

Volkswagen is planning to launch a new budget brand to challenge the likes of Dacia – and the bargain basement minis will be sold in Europe too. Prices for the yet-nameless new cheap VWs will start from just €6000, or £4800, according to paperwork seen by CAR. How can VW build city cars so cheaply?

We have the first photos of Volvo’s sporty take on the new V40 – the Volvo V40 R Design – ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show. Update: Volvo has now caught up with this story, so we’ve added a few more photos and a video. The V40 R-Design will be available as an option across all the V40′s range of engines but the Sport suspension still remains an option, not standard.

BMW i3 EV takes to the race track (video) The BMW i3 EV City Car finally got revealed in July in production guise, and it’s a clever car if not exactly a looker. With a lightweight inner body made from carbon fibre and an electric motor that offers 168 bhp and an instant 184lb/ft of torque it has more than enough power to keep up with traffic in any city. Sadly, the i3 hasn’t done particularly well in Euro NCAP tests but that hasn’t stopped orders for the i3 exceeding anything BMW could have reasonably expected.
