Nissan GT-R tweaked for 2009 with more power
Tue, 09 Dec 2008By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 09 December 2008 11:30 The Nissan GT-R still hasn’t gone on sale in Europe and it's already been treated to a few tweaks - new for 2009 will be more power, revised suspension, different wheels and tyres, plus a price hike. Quite, but the increase is a mere 5bhp, taking the output of Nissan's 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 from 473 to 478bhp. Nissan says the extra grunt comes from the fine tweaking of the electronics, though torque remains unchanged at 432lb ft.
Nissan ESFLOW: Electric Sports Car
Wed, 09 Feb 2011Nissan ESFLOW Electric Sports Car As Tesla has already proved, if you throw enough money at it, employ enough publicists (including self-publicists) and string enough laptop batteries together, you can make an electric sports car. And, because of the lightness of construct and instant torque of an electric motor, you can make it sprint to 60mph in pretty short shrift. Whether, with all the lard that comes with thousands of laptop batteries, you can make it go round corners properly… Which has obviously inspired Nissan to send the LEAF and the 370Z off to conjugate somewhere suitable, with orders to deliver up the resulting oxymoron – an electric sports car – to the Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes SLK 250 CDI (2012) – the SLK goes diesel
Wed, 17 Aug 2011Mercedes SLK 250 CDI - the SLK gets an oil-burner It would have been almost unthinkable until recently; a sports car with a diesel engine. But now it makes so much sense on so many levels it’s no surprise that Mercedes-Benz has opted to give us an oil-burning SLK – the Mercedes SLK 250 CDI. In all the ways that matter the SLK 250 CDI is just like every other Mercedes SLK.
