This auction is for an inside rearview mirror removed from a 2003 Volkswagen Passat. The mirror features auto/self dimming, 2 red LED mood lights, rain sensor for the windshield and wiring harnesses that go up to the connectors in the headliner. I believe this should fit many '98 & up Volkswagens, including the Passat, Jetta, and possibly the Golf and Touareg, and may also possibly fit Audis of the same era, including the A4, S4, A5, A6 and S6, but *please verify this for yourself with a dealer or professional if you are unsure*!

These mirrors commonly break/leak, so here is your chance to replace your mirror for a fraction of the dealer cost. Also, if your car did not come with an auto dimming mirror from the factory, and you'd like to upgrade to one, wiring one in is very easy to do. For this particular mirror, all that is needed is one wire run to a +12v source that comes on with ignition/accessories, and one wire that is grounded. There is a 3rd wire that is tapped into a source for the back up lights to disable the self-dimming feature when the car is put in reverse, but most people don't bother wiring this in as it is not an important feature, and does not effect the functionality of the mirror in any way. I will ID the 3 wires for the auto dimming mirror for the buyer (I cannot ID the 3 rain sensor wires, though).

Determining part fitment and compatibility is the sole responsibility of the buyer/bidder! Remember that if your car did not come with this mirror, **this will be a custom installation job**, so if you do not feel comfortable in installing it yourself, or do not want to pay a professional to do so, please do not purchase the item. Also, look over the pictures below carefully to make sure this mirror's mounting bracket will fit your windshield's mounting button, or contact a dealer/professional to verify this. Any and all costs incurred for installation, or dealer reprogramming, reflashing or unlocking of electronic parts in order to make the part work is also the sole responsibility of the buyer/bidder.



Condition

This part is in overall excellent condition. The housing and glass is very clean, the self dimming feature responds quickly and flawlessly, the on/off button works and the red LED mood lights function as well. I did not test the rain sensor, but that is not what you're paying for/buying in this auction. That is just an extra bonus because I did not want to separate the wiring harnesses. I would rate this item a 9/10 cosmetically. Please see the detailed photos provided below to further determine for yourself the condition of the item, and what it's worth to you.
