This air filter canister looks like the type used on early VWs however, there are no VW markings. The ID of the air filter where it attaches to a manifold or carb is approximately 1 3/16". The air filter assembly is attached to the carb or manifold with a through bolt that passes through the top. The air filter is in very good condition. There is a slight dent on the lip of the lid which is easily removed. This is shown in the 2nd and 3rd photo. The canister stands slightly less than 5" and the bottom section that attaches to the engine is about 4 1/4" wide.
