Up for auction is a very nice oldschool find. This is a genuine Olympic made 36 Horsepower aircooled engine distributor cap and rotor. The distributor cap is brand new in the very vintage looking Olympic Brazil box. The rotor is a Beru unit. Both are brand new and have been stored for many years. I have added a few large pictures to the auction and as you can see this is a very nice unit for your vintage VW... or your collection!

But those who don’t know about Bendix Woods County Park west of South Bend, Ind., feast your eyes on 5,000 pine trees, planted in 1937, spelling Studebaker when viewed from high enough. Bendix Woods park was formerly the Studebaker proving grounds, and much of the track surface is still visible in satellite photos.
Mazda pushes fuel economy, plans a new engine by 2011
Mon, 24 Aug 2009Mazda's push to increase fuel economy across its model line will include a new range of gasoline engines and may involve the introduction of diesel and idle-stop technology in the United States. Mazda is aiming to increase fuel economy across its global lineup by 30 percent by 2015. The first stage of that transformation will include the introduction of a more fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrain in 2011.
Porsche, Volkswagen work out more sale details, may use Auto Union name
Thu, 13 Aug 2009Porsche and Volkswagen have broadly agreed on sale terms, and the name Auto Union may be resurrected, Reuters reports. The new entity could be led by Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn, and Porsche would retain some independence--similar to Audi's setup within the Volkswagen Group. Porsche would be the 10th brand in the company.
