Mon, 11 Aug 2014By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 11 August 2014 00:01 What happens when you bestow a sports car engine and chassis tweaks upon a hulking big SUV? This: the new 2014 Range Rover Sport SVR, unveiled today and due to cost a heady £93,450. It is claimed to be the world’s fastest 4x4, thanks to a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 nabbed from the Jaguar XKR-S and boosted to 543bhp and 502lb ft of torque.
First 2015 retail Mustang goes for $300K
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Compared to your typical Barrett-Jackson collector car auction price, $300,000 might not seem like too much--a 1967 Corvette went for $3.8 million. But with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, $300,000 doesn't sound too shabby. On Saturday, the winning bidder ended up dishing out $300k for the first 2015 retail Ford Mustang GT, about 10 times the actual price.
Bentley designers talk 'Intelligent Details' in movie shot on iPhone
Fri, 16 May 2014Bentley has released a short documentary featuring director of design, Luc Donckerwolke, and SangYup Lee, its new head of exterior design, taking a ride around New York City in the back of a pair of Mulsannes. Called 'Intelligent Details,' the film sees Donckerwolke and Lee talking about how one of the challenges of designing a successful Bentley interior is to match the car's performance with the expectation of its integrated technology. And to make sure you get the message loud and clear, not only does the video show the Mulsanne's optional smartly integrated iPads, which emerge from the front seat backs at the touch of a button, the whole movie itself was shot on an iPhone 5S (albeit 'enhanced' by some extremely expensive-looking lenses and rigs), then cut together on one of the car's in-built tablets.
