The ultimate Christmas present – life-size Lego car in pictures

Tell someone you want a life-size Lego car complete with a working engine made from the mini bricks at this time of year and they might laugh it off as a festive joke. But while little ones all over the world might be playing with Lego Santa brought them this Christmas, we’ve got our eyes on another, rather more impressive model. It’s called the ‘Super Awesome Micro Project’ and it’s awesome.

Audi has unveiled the new R8 supercar, closely based on the Le Mans concept that was shown three years ago in Frankfurt. The two-seat car uses a shortened version of the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, and is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 using FSI technology first introduced by the A2. Like the now-obsolete small car the R8 is also constructed of an aluminum space-frame, keeping weight down to 1360kg.

Kiss and Mini team up to raise money for UNICEF

To help fund global relief efforts, Mini will auction four Countrymans emblazoned with the makeup likeness and autographs of Kiss band members. Just in time for Father’s Day, the eBay charity auction opens on May 29 and runs for 10 days. Funds will go to UNICEF to help children in Japan and to aid in other global emergencies.
