Guzzler program still operating; White House searches for funds

The federal cash-for-guzzlers program continues to operate this morning despite dealer reports that it was to be suspended at midnight last night because it was approaching its $1 billion limit. "It is not suspended," a White House spokeswoman, who asked not to be named, said in an interview today. "We continue to assess the program and its budget." National Automobile Dealers Association spokesman Bailey Wood said Thursday that the group had been told by Transportation Department officials of plans to suspend the program after just six days.

Peter Schreyer to receive 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award

Peter Schreyer has been chosen by a panel of his fellow designers to receive the 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award. Schreyer, Kia and Hyundai's chief design officer and one of three presidents, directs the design strategy for the both Kia and Hyundai. He's the first non-Korean to hold the position of president and is one of the highest-ranking designers in the industry's history.

To be honest, there’s not a huge amount of extra power on the Vantage V8 S – just 10bhp – but there are a chunk of tweaks that make it very appealing, including a new seven speed Sportshift ‘box, sharper steering, better braking and a bit of suspension tweaking to make the V8S that bit more aggressive.
