Description

This is a set of gaskets to seal the water inlet housing, found on the timing belt end of the engine, normally obscured by the power steering pump and air conditioning compressor. Set includes one gasket and one standard size o-ring.

This is the most common source of the mystery coolant leak and antifreeze smell for these vehicles with the 4XF1 DOHC engine. The water inlet housing is located behind and under the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioner compressor, and is seldom seen or serviced. After several years, the gasket and o-ring will begin leaking and coolant will slowly drip down the front of the engine block behind the air conditioning compressor, baking off on the hot engine block, and evaporating before it reaches the oil pan or drips onto the ground. The trail of white residue is completely obscured by the air conditioning compressor, nearly impossible to find while casually searching for the source of the smell of baking engine coolant.

These are among the first items discontinued by Isuzu and Chevrolet, prior to Isuzu ceasing passenger vehicle sales in North America. Soon after, the Victor brand aftermarket gasket was discontinued. This gasket is unique to Isuzu 4X engines and is not shared by any other automobile or brand of engine.

We searched out nearly every new, unsold gasket in North America. Those gaskets are now gone.

We had new gaskets made using new, more modern material, and make those available for purchase.

We then sourced duplicates of the original RED SILICONE O-Rings to match the spec of the factory equipment. (These hold up to heat and contaminates better than the cheap black Buna o-rings found at your corner hardware store).

Bernie Ecclestone says there will be no two-tier system in the F1 budget cap row [ad#ad-1] All eyes have gone off the stunning start to this year’s F1 circus with the news that Ferrari, Renault, Red Bull and several other teams have threatened to quit F1 next year in protest at the budget cap proposal and the two-tier system that appears to create. In a nutshell, the FIA – lead by Max Mosley – has imposed a £40 million cap on F1 team expenditure for next year (excluding driver costs, marketing costs and transport), but has said that teams who don’t adhere to the cap can still compete, but will be handicapped. Not surprisingly, the richer teams have objected and, on the face of it, it starts to look as if F1 as we know it is going to bite the dust.

The 2014 Australian Grand Prix gets underway It’s all new cars for the first Grand Prix of the 2014 F1 season in Melbourne, but the expectation was that Mercedes would dominate, with Lewis Hamilton sitting on pole and Nico Rosberg sitting third, separated by Red Bull’s new boy, Daniel Ricciardo. In fact, because of engine problems, Hamilton was sidelined from the start and down to fourth by the first corner, with Rosberg making the most of his team mate’s woes and storming through to take the lead, a lead he kept until the end for a dominant win in Melbourne. Behind Hamilton, home boy Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull managed to make the 2014 Red Bull car look immensely promising to take second place, a welcome boost for the troubled Red Bull team, even if world champion Sebastian Vettel suffered the same fate as Hamilton, retiring with engine problems.

The Vuhl 05 (pictured), track-focused road car, has been revealed The Vuhl 05 – which has been teased recently – was unveiled this afternoon in London as Mexico’s answer to the Ariel Atom. The Vuhl 05 uses a bonded monocoque with honeycomb panels and aluminium covered on plastic panels to keep weight down to just 695kg. That means that even though the Vuhl 05 has only 285bhp available from its mid-mounted 2.0 litre turbo Ford EcoBoost engine, it can still get to 62mph in 3.7 seconds thanks to a power to weight ratio of 400bhp per tonne.
