Group 20 supercar club wound up by court

    Fri, 05 Jun 2009

By Peter Adams (third photograph by Medway Messenger) Motor Industry 05 June 2009 14:54 Another supercar club has reached the end of the road, joining a growing list of top-end supercar rental businesses that have collapsed in the recession. Group 20 has been wound up by the courts, along with sister car finance companies Vehicle Options Ltd and Vehicle Options Fleet Ltd.All three companies were investigated by the Insolvency Service after complaints, CAR can reveal.Group 20 supercar club: what went wrong? The supercar club started trading in 2006 and used a network of franchisees to sell membership to the club. Over time, Group 20 expanded to boast a rental list of exotica worth around £2 million; local newspaper reports in the Medway Messenger reveal Group 20 boasted a Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GTC and, most impressively, a Zonda F Roadster on its books. However, the Companies Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service found that Group 20 and its parent company had numerous ‘misleading business practices’.

    Skoda Fabia concept

    Tue, 06 Mar 2007

By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 06 March 2007 03:50 Skoda looks to the Mini for Fabia body kit Expect to see some Mini-inspired styling cues on Skoda's new Fabia, taken from this concept car unveiled today at the Geneva show. Tucked in a corner alongside a rally car concept, the funked-up Fabia had a silver roof and door mirror caps; although not yet officially confirmed for production, officials reckon the new look will make it to showrooms, unlike a Fabia Scout faux-by-four, which was ruled out. The Fabia goes on sale in May for around £8000.

First McLaren P1 customer cars delivered & specs and performance confirmed

    Mon, 21 Oct 2013

First McLaren P1 customer cars delivered With McLaren starting production of the P1 earlier this month, and the P1 has now starting to arrive in the hands of real customers (which, it appears, is more than Ferrari can manage with LaFerrari) with it comes confirmation of the immense performance the P1 offers. The 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds is impressive enough, but the 0-124mph of just 6.8 seconds, quarter mile of 9.8 seconds (at 152mph terminal speed) and a limited top speed of 217mph makes the new P1 astonishingly quick. If we look at the P1′s rivals claims for performance, LaFerrariu comes close with (vague) promises from Ferrari of a 0-62mph under 3 seconds and a 0-124mph if under 7 seconds.
