Lotus to invest £500 million to build Esprit, Eterne, Elite & Elan. 1900 new jobs

The new Lotus Esprit Dany Bahar – Lotus boss – revealed plans at last year’s Paris Motor Show to turn Lotus in to an East Anglian Aston Martin. Those plans included one car we knew about – the new Lotus Esprit – and a number we didn’t – the Lotus Eterne, Lotus Elite, Lotus Elan and a new Lotus Elite. But the plans seemed to be nothing more than a wish list, and although it was intimated that Lotus owners Proton were going to provide a war chest of £770 million to fund the development, that later appeared to be an intent to provide Lotus with funds to develop a new range of cars, rather than an actual commitment.

Jaguar F-Type – new video ahead of debut

We have new video of the Jaguar F-Type ahead of its reveal in a week’s time at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Jaguar then did pragmatic thing and released that rogue image of three F-Types officially (rather than twisting arms to take it down as sister company Land Rover did with the first photo of the 2013 Range Rover) so we could see the F-Type in decent detail. Motorway Service Station Fuel 'Too Pricey'

IT WOULD appear that cash-strapped drivers have had their fill of motorway service station fuel – that’s according to a survey conducted by research company Viewsbank. Almost all (98%) of motorists canvassed reckon motorway petrol and diesel is too pricey, with 60% saying they never buy it. Based on responses from 1,030 drivers, the poll also showed that 28% always fill up before going on a motorway and 5% always leave the motorway to find cheaper fuel elsewhere.
