This sale is for a used pair of Weber 40 DCOE 2 carbs, two new sets of venturis, and an assortment of linkage/mounting hardware. Please read this entire description very carefully, as some things are guaranteed and some are not.

Some years ago I purchased an intake manifold, along with this attached set of 40 DCOE's and some other items, from a local auto enthusiast. I was told that the manifold/DCOE setup was from a Datsun project, that the carbs were working, but needed rebuilding. At the time, I wanted the DCOE's and other items for the Triumph Spitfires I had. I no longer have Spits, so it's time for these to go. The manifold is for sale seperately.

The carbs are in as-found, uncleaned condition. They are dirty and presumably need rebuilding. They otherwise look solid and undamaged. The throttle shaft action feels smooth and the spring-return feels correct. It's very hard to see, but I believe that the installed venturis are 33's.

Included are two new, uninstalled sets of 39 and 40 venturis. Please check the photos closely because, while they're new and unused, they have some surface corrosion that's going to need to be smoothed.

Included also is an assortment of mounting hardware, most of it new according to the previous owner. He said that everything was present for mounting to the Datsun he was going to put this into, but I don't know that for certain.

The carbs are guaranteed to be rebuildable, and the two sets of venturis are guaranteed to be unused, as outlined below.

After his non-publicized departure from Ferrari earlier this year, in which Flavio Manzoni was appointed to take his place, Donato Coco has now resurfaced. Lotus has announced Coco's appointment to Director of Design for Group Lotus starting January 4, 2010. In this newly created role, Coco, an Italian national, will lead all Lotus Design activities for Lotus Cars and Lotus Engineering.
