This is a vintage collectible tire / inner tube repair kit by Western States Mfg. Co called Western Weld.  The photos show the contents of this item.  I don't know if it still works so should be considered as garage art or display.  The can is made of cardboard with a tin top and bottom and a Litho style label. The label includes advertisements for patents as recent as 1933 so my guess is that this is from the late 1930's or early 1940's around World War II.  It was made in Sioux City Iowa, and was retrieved from a garage about an hour away.  Cool piece!

But make no mistake: Bob Lutz is not running from the fight engulfing Detroit and the rest of the automaking world.
