Whistler Lr-300gp Radar Detector

Whistler LR-300GP Laser-Radar Detector with Internal GPS

Whistler LR-300GP Laser-Radar Detector with Internal GPS

The Whistler LR-300GP Laser Radar Detector Internal GPS offers red light/speed camera alerts, clock, heading, and updatable database via supplied USB cable. Total Laser Detection detects all new lasers used in the US including Laser Atlanta Stealth mode, Laser Ally and the new LTI TruSpeed. It has a compact & discreet design that provides a new level of operating convenience. Its Red OLED Text Display shows alerts detected, engaged modes & digital signal strength in easy-to-read text format (i.e. HIGHWAY or Ka9).

Selectable Tone Alerts allow choice of tones providing distinct audible alerts for bands received, so you can keep your eyes on the road. 360-degree MAXX Coverage & Total Band Protection ensure maximum protection in the front, sides, and rear of your vehicle. This unit detects VG-2 & POP Mode (brief bursts of radar), laser & radar signals including X & K band - SuperWideBand Ka - Laser (the only bands that are used for speed measurement). Selectable Bands allow specific bands to be turned on or off. A High Gain Lens provides increased field of view which means better range. It has 3 different modes, including City & Highway to reduce false alerts.

Traffic Flow Signal Rejection (TFSR) helps eliminate alerts from radar based traffic flow sensors. Additional competitive features include: Selectable Vehicle Battery Saver, a Setting Saver that saves your personalized settings so you don't have to re-enter them, Alert Priority, a Quiet/Auto Quiet feature, Dimmer, Safety Warning System that keeps you informed of highway safety where transmitters are located, & Stay Alert that tests your alertness on long trips. It also comes complete with a Windshield Bracket Kit, Power Cord & Manual for quick & easy setup.

Additional Information: Laser radar detectors are legal for passenger vehicles in every state except Virginia and Washington, D.C. Radar receivers are prohibited in commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs. Whistler laser radar detectors receive laser guns that operate at a laser wavelength of 905+/50nm. Whistler detectors receive the following radar frequencies: 10.500 10.550 GHz - X Band; 24.050 24.250 GHz - K Band; 33.400 36.000 GHz - SuperWideBand Ka. This includes the POP™ instant-on feature, which operates within the K and Ka bands. POP™ is a trademark of MPH Industries.

    LR-300GP Laser Radar Detector Features
Whistler LR-300GP Laser-Radar Detector with Internal GPS
    • INTERNAL GPS  provides speed and red light camera alerts*, Clock, Speed Selective Auto Quiet and more (*Database currently installed and can be updated via USB cable)
    • Total Band Protection
Provides Complete Band Coverage of all Laser, Radar (X, K, and Ka bands), VG-2, and Safety Radar bands.
    • Red OLED Text Display
The LR-300GP's display provides better contrast, brightness and color. Shows alerts detected, engaged modes and digital signal strength in text format HIGHWAY or Ka9.
    • 360 Degree Protection
Units with 360 protection detect signals from all radar, laser, VG-2 and safety radar systems wherever they come from; front, rear or from the side.
    • VG-2 Detection
The VG-2, also known as a "radar detector detector," is a special receiver used by police to detect signals radiated by a radar detector. Thanks to Whistler's patented VG-2 cloaking technology, your detector will remain invisible to VG-2 detection.
    • 3 City Modes/Highway Mode
Highway mode provides full audio and visual warning of laser/radar systems while maintaining full sensitivity, and is the default setting of Whistler laser/radar detectors. City mode helps reduce the annoyance of automatic door openers and burglar alarm alerts by providing an initial alert (same distance as Highway Mode) then remaining quiet unless the signal strength becomes very strong. When the signal increases the unit will alert briefly to notify you of the change in signal strength.
    • Quiet/Auto Quiet Modes
Pressing QUIET before a signal is detected engages Auto Quiet Mode, which automatically reduces the audio level after the initial warning to a low audio level setting. Pressing QUIET during a radar/laser encounter silences audio alerts, while allowing visual alerts to keep you informed.
    • Vehicle Battery Saver Mode
The Vehicle Battery Saver Mode automatically shuts off your detector within 3 hours if you forget to turn it off. The timer is reset if the detector is turned off, unplugged or any button is pressed before the 6 hours have expired. The detector will alert you with an audible and visual warning before it shuts off.
    • Alert Priority
When two or more signals are received at the same time, the alert priority is: Laser, VG-2, Speed Radar, Safety Radar. Example: If X band is alerting, then suddenly a VG-2 signal is detected, the VG-2 warning will override the X band alert.
    • Twin Alert Periscopes
Whistler's Low Profile Alert Periscopes provide an added attention getting visual alert. The two extra LEDs flash on and off when the unit alarms to provide a unique visual alert in bright red.

What it does get is a bit of a cosmetic makeover and a list of goodies dropped in.

Brabus kit improves diesel Mercedes power

    Mon, 25 Nov 2013

German tuner Brabus does most of its work with big-displacement, big-power engines, mostly for Mercedes-Benz (though Smart products get the Brabus treatment from time to time as well). On Monday, it proved that it can do the same with the company’s oil burners. It’ll also sell you a Mercedes diesel with Brabus upgrades already installed.

Renault Twingo and Clio Grand Tour

    Thu, 08 Mar 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 08 March 2007 10:12 French but sans le funky look A busy show stand for Renault – as well as unveiling its new Twingo city car, the French manufacturer pulled the wraps off a thinly disguised version of its upcoming Clio estate to take on its Fabia and Peugeot 207 wagon rivals. After the funked up coolness of the Twingo concept car shown at the Paris Motor Show last year, we are more than a little underwhelmed by the production Twingo. Renault is keen to move away from the utilitarian look and feel of the original model – it will leave cheap and cheerful sales to the Clio Campus – and pitch the new model at sharper-suited rivals like the Mini.
