 WILWOOD SUPERLITE INTERNAL BRAKE CALIPER

  FORGED ALUMINUM

4 PISTON 1.38 / .810

These Wilwood Forged Superlite Internal (FSLI) brake calipers feature internal fluid ports that eliminate the external fluid crossover tubes, along with any potential problems that could arise from a damaged tube. The transfer tube has been replaced with two additional bleed screw assemblies, which allow this group of symmetrical piston bore models to be mounted either on the right or left in a leading or trailing position. They are also stress-flow forged from premium-grade aluminum alloy billets. Stress-flow forging realigns the metal's internal grain structure to flow within the contour of the caliper body. This process eliminates the stresses and interruptions to the internal grain structure that occur when machining a straight block billet. The FSLI body design is a highly efficient product of computer-generated solid modeling and stress analysis technology.

Nissan Juke-R (2012) goes into production

Fri, 04 May 2012

Nissan has announced that its Juke-R prototype will enter limited production on a build-to-order basis. Yes, really. The Juke-R is the result of the Nissan Europe Technical Centre in Cranfield teaming-up with UK motorsport engineering firm RML to stuff the powertrain of a Nissan GTR into a Nissan Juke bodyshell to create 'the world's fastest crossover'.

Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ emits just 87g/km CO2

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ emits just 87g/km You do have to wonder sometimes just how much we actually need expensive technology like hybrid powertrains and EVs when cars with conventional ICE engines can manage ridiculous mpg and emit little Co2- cars like the Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+. Citroen has announced that their super-frugal C3 with a ridiculously long name (which fortunately doesn’t seem to be painted on the boot lid) and which was first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in September, is now on sale in the UK. The figures for the C3 e-HDI really are quite remarkable.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra: A huge deal

Fri, 14 Dec 2012

Yesterday General Motors unveiled its new full-sized pickup trucks, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. It was a big day for me -- like Christmas for an 8-year-old: People who know me know what a Silverado slappy I am. Given that the trucks are the first new GM full-size pickups in years, and since CEO Dan Akerson called it the “biggest launch in probably decades,” clearly it's a big deal for them too.
