Tue, 26 Nov 2013By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 26 November 2013 10:00 This is the new Volvo V60 Polestar: a production-ready, 342bhp estate that Volvo will sell in the UK in 2014. That’s right, after the concept-only S60 Polestar and C30 Polestar, Volvo’s finally putting its performance arm’s money where its mouth is. American and mainland European buyers will be able to buy a saloon S60 Polestar, but we Brits only get the wagon V60.
Hyundai ix20 (2010) first official teaser sketch
Thu, 02 Sep 2010Hyundai is the latest car manufacturer to join the mini-MPV party, with the upcoming ix20, and ahead of its preview at the Paris motor show at the end of this month, the Korean company has released this teaser sketch. Designed and developed at Hyundai’s European research and development centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the ix20 is essentially Hyundai’s version of sister firm Kia’s Venga. Hyundai would have you believe it’s a little bit of both – the ‘ix’ moniker has been chosen to suggest its cross-over like capability. The Korean manufacturer says the ix20 is ‘a vehicle with the ability to simultaneously serve as a functional people-carrier while providing a dynamic, fun-to-drive experience’; the Venga has shown that it’s a capable and competent, if unexciting, small MPV.
Classic vs. Modern: Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ vs. Datsun 280Z
Tue, 09 Oct 2012My interest in cars remains stuck in the early 1970s--when I was spending most of my time trying to retrieve the copies of AutoWeek that had been confiscated by my second grade teacher, Mrs. Wilks. While my iPod may be full of downloads from the likes of Dirty Pretty Things, The Kooks and Grizzly Bear (and very little from Led Zeppelin, the Stones or Pink Floyd), my garage contains nothing built after 1991.
